Parable about Being Thankful

Sometimes we tend to forget to be appreciative of the things around us. Generally we are always a little more grateful for physical things, like when someone hands you a box of chocolates, or bought you lunch, or just given you something you can hold. Like a teddy bear. Not that I've ever been given one (there's a hint for everyone).

Unfortunately, the things that we should be thankful for the most simply slip our minds. The goodbye hug from mum each morning, a handshake from dad, a hi-5 from a friend. On a day to day basis, we should always be grateful for the smaller things too. We should appreciate it.

BUT, these are things we take for granted. We get a little too comfortable.

You know what else we need to be thankful for? Big things too. Like the greatest act anyone could've ever done for us. All of us! You and I. Some of us don't know exactly what that is, some of us know it very well. But are we thankful for it?

Being Thankful. It's a simple act with a multitude of meaning behind it.

I invite you to come to youth this Friday to learn a little more about something we seem to do so little of.

Andrew :)
