Hey guys!Please come and join the Combined District Youth Gathering on the 26 of September. It will be held at Grace Methodist Church down in Forrestdale; it's not that far, and you can check out their new(ish) building!
More importantly, let's gather to celebrate unity, and to learn more from Dr Brian Harris who will be speaking on the night!
One more important announcement is that we will be taking registrations for the AMYC on the night at the early bird rate! If you still want to come to AMYC, or invite some friends, you can still get the early bird rate. AND; if you come to our EMYF, we are also going to give you a further discount (to $130)! This can also apply to your friends.
There will be no youth on Friday the 25th of September. If you have transport difficulties, please contact James for help! We will get you down there.

IRON MASTERCHEF NIGHT!
hey everyone!!
Just want to let everyone know that this week's special program at EMYF is Iron Masterchef Nite - A Cookoff with the Parents.
The main ingredient that will be used in your dishes is Fruits. You'll be cooking in your tribe groups and will be alloacted a certain amount of fruits to cook with. You will not only be judged on the taste of your dish but the relativity to a bible story. So please feel free to bring your friends and most importantly invite your parents to come along!
It would also help if you could bring some utensils from the kitchen (e.g. knives, chopping boards, nice plates/bowls/glasses, etc.) and any other ingredient that will go well with fruits! (e.g custard, whipped cream, etc..)

40Hr FAMINE - Do something REAL
Hey all...
Our youth will be participating in the 40 hour Famine this year.
For those who don't know what 40 hour famine is.. it is a yearly youth fundraising event that raises funds for children living in poverty in Cambodia and Kenya.
Do something real and sacrifice something you love for 40hrs (be it facebook, food, tv, furniture.. ) and have people supporting you by donating funds. It's a great way for young people in Australia to experience what life is like for those to have to go without - every single day...
The 40 hour famine weekend start at 8pm on Friday 21 August and finishes at noon on Sunday 23 August. So please I encourage everyone to participate this year, although it will be challenging but it makes you realise how much God has really blessed you in your life.

AMYC 2009!!! ~~~
Every year an Australian Methodist Youth Convention is held at selected cities around Australia and this year it's at PERTH! And our church has the privilege to be the host of this year's Australian Methodist Youth Convention!
The convention will be held on 29th Nov to 2nd Dec at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp.The theme for this year is 'Called to Lead' and the special speaker for this topic at AMYC will be Rev. Dr. Brian Harris.
Registration forms are out and are available on the EMYF board. The early bird fee of $155 is currently still available so be quick in registering cos it will be over on 16th August (Sunday).
We seriously encourage you to mark the dates down in your diary and consider on coming along! It will be a guaranteed fastastic time spent getting to know more about God and our fellow brothers and sisters from Chinese Methodist youth groups all around Australia!

If My People
This is one of my favourite songs which our choir has sung. It is a beautiful song, based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV):
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
It was sung sometime in 2007... I think March.

40 DAYS of PURPOSE
EMYF will be participating in the 40 Days of Purpose Journey along with our church for the next 7 weeks.Here are some important instructions to take note of while we study the 40 Days of Purpose material:
- please read one chapter a day (of The Purpose Driven Life book)
- come prepared to discuss what you've read
- there will be some discussion questions which are on the handout that accompanies the church bulletin - if you don't come to our church service then hopefully you can just read the 40DOP book anyway, the leader will go through the questions.
- study groups will be in your new tribes
