Social Concern Night: Burma

HEY Youth!

How has your week been so far?  Good I hope.

This week me and Alice will be talking about the EMYF's sponsor child, Duan Gui Mei, who is from Burma.  We've sponsored her for probably around 5 years now but I realised that not many of you know about her so that's why we are having this program.  Take note that part of your offerings actually go to supporting Gui Mei in getting an education and providing for her basic needs.

We will also be talking more broadly about Burma itself and the needs of the country, physically and spiritually.  I hope to have Social Concern nights every few months because it is a good reminder to us to care for the oppressed and those who are in need.  As Christians, we have even more reason to look for for the needy.

In Isaiah 1, we are called to:
"Learn to do good.  Seek justice.  Help the oppressed.  Defend the cause of orphans.  Fight for the rights of widows."

So I will see you all there this Friday night!

May God bless you through the rest of this week.
