Christina will be leading us into our 2nd Bible Study into the Book of Colossians, which as we learnt a fortnight ago, is a letter from the Apostle Paul to the Colossian church. The city of Colosse was located in what is known today as Turkey. I googled that just then hahahaha....
Many of you brought your Bible Study booklets back home with you the last time. So it is ESSENTIAL that you remember to bring your booklets for Bible Study this Friday. We won't be printing off new ones because we don't want to waste paper. We'll be storing the booklets in the EMYF cupboard this Friday so that you don't have to remember to bring them the next time.
Despite the exams/assignments/tests that many of you have coming up, I still want to encourage you all to meet up with your fellow bros and sisters in Christ each Friday. As Geoff reminded us last week, Youth is an opportunity to get away from the pressures and stresses of the world and to meet with like-minded, godly people who will help us remain connected with God, especially in a world which continually "eats away" at our affections for Him. This is something that I've been thinking about a lot this week. The glittery things of the world look so appealing to us that slowly, subtly but surely, we grow further and further from our heavenly Father.
This song from Sanctus Real called "The Way the World Turns" aptly describes what I mean.
Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a NEW person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
So come to Bible Study this Friday! I look forward to seeing you there!
