This post is a reminder for the youthies who came last Friday and is also for the benefit of those who didn't come to youth last week.
We are beginning a spiritual journal based on the key verse of each Bible Study in youth.
Using the 5 devotional methods that we learnt in 40 Days in the Word (Pronounce it, Picture it, Probe it, Paraphrase it and Personalise it), meditate on the key verse using your journal.
What do you write in your journal?
Your thoughts, observations and even questions you gain from each method of meditating the key bible verse - just like you did in 40 Days. Also don't forget to write down how you will apply the verse in your life i.e. What are you going to do about what you've learnt? What does God want you to do about it? Make sure you action out whatever way you have decided to apply the verse BEFORE the next Bible Study so you can share with your group.
Why use a journal?
As Rick said, thoughts untangle when you write it down. Unless you write down your thoughts, you have really thought about it!! There are spare journals for those of you who weren't here last week. You can pick one up this Fri.
Remember that knowledge not applied, only puffs up and stagnates your spiritual life and you only BELIEVE the parts of the Bible you actually DO. Your insights are not only for you own benefit, but for the benefit of others. That's why application is important and that is also why I'll going to pick 2 ppl from youth to share their insights....so beware. MUAHAHAHAHahahahaha.....
The key verse for the next fortnight is from 1 John 4:19
"We love because He first loved us."PUNCTUALITY
Reminder once again to be at Youth by 7:30pm. I notice that there are quite a few ppl trailing in around 7:45pm. It's for your own benefit to join us for a time of singing praises to God.
